IDF murders Palestinian teen in new attack by illegal Israeli settlers

(MENAFN) A Palestinian teenager was shot dead on Tuesday in the occupied West Bank during an attack by illegal Israeli settlers, according to Palestinian authorities.

Moheeb Jibril, 19, was reportedly shot by a settler in the town of Tuqu’, located southeast of Bethlehem, the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission stated. Witnesses said an Israeli settler exited his vehicle and opened fire on Jibril, killing him and seriously wounding another young man.

Jibril’s death comes less than 24 hours after another Palestinian teen was killed by Israeli forces during a military raid in the same town, marking the second fatality in Tuqu’ in a single day.

This latest killing raises the number of Palestinians reportedly killed by illegal settlers this year to 15, and 37 since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023. Palestinian sources also report that since October 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,097 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000.

In a notable ruling in July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories illegal and called for the removal of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to reports.
